MIDICraft Compositions and Arrangements
Classic Amiga Scores Vol #1
Each Standard MIDI File (SMF) is configured as a format 1 file, setup for
the General MIDI (GM) standard.. All 10 scores in this pack are accompanied
with ASCII documentation listing the SMF GM MIDI/Synth setup together with
a smaller documument as a simple identifier..
.RDM files are MSDOS file abreviations for "README" ASCII documents
.TXT files are MSDOS file abreviations for "TEXT" ASCII documents
.MID files are MSDOS file abreviations for "SMF" Standard MIDI Files
Every attempt has been made to ensure that all MIDI music scores contained
on the Classic Amiga Scores Vol #1 play correctly via a General MIDI (GM)
external MIDI synthesizer.. The MIDI scores should play on Soundcards with
GM facilities on a PC and whilst the quality is professional sounding on a
high quality GM synth then if played on an inferior MIDI synth/Soundcard or
played through small PC speakers then the quality of audio will be in
direct proportion to the quality of the MIDI synths and or PC
Soundcard/Speakers used.. If you use a high quality GM MIDI synth and or GM
Soundcard then these SMF files should sound as they were intended to be
heard.. If played though a decent amplification system or good Hi Fi then
more the better.. If you are in any doubt as to the particular MIDI
instrument configurations for each score then please refer to the "README"
document which accompanies each Standard MIDI File (SMF) and can be
identified by the file extension ".RDM"
Moreover, any of the compositions stored within this MIDICraft product, in
whatever file format, are NOT to be copied or used commercially to make
up Public Domain collections and or compilations on any CD-ROM without
the expressed permission of MIDICraft or the composers themselves!!
*** IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT (C) COPYRIGHT! ***
As I, Kevan R.Craft, am the musical arranger of these peices featured here
within this "Classic Amiga Scores Vol #1", then I've provided them for
non-commercial use by any amateur/hobbyist Video Production entity or for
Educational Institutions which provides academic courses in
Television/Video Production/Animation and or Film, and I give my permission
that these Standard MIDI File (SMF) scores can be used within their
productions as long as no commercial gain is made from the productions and
that credit be given to the composer/s within any realised project's end
titles/credits.. If a commercial Video or Television Production company
wishes to use any of the scores featured here, and monitary gain is
involved, then your company`s lawyer who specialises in rights should
contact the composers of the peice you wish to use.. Their names and
contact addresses have been provided for this purpose.. For my part, I
converted these tracks from Amiga MOD format to Standard MIDI File (SMF)
format because I really like these peices, they display raw talent and I`m
providing all ten scores here to profile these musicians to a wider
audience so that they may receive something for their talents.. If you
wanna` use their music commercially, then please contact them!

"Boesendorfer PPS" and "Cream of the Earth" by Romeo Knight/TRSI
Both of these tracks appeared on TRSI Amiga DEMO disks in the late 1980's &
blew away all those who had the opportunity of hearing them.. With
Boesendorfer PPS the sheer quality of the Protracker MOD using IFF samples
as piano instruments was simply awesome, so much so that this track cried
out to be converted to MIDI format.. Cream of the Earth is such a really
catchy track that a conversion to MIDI was inevitable.. Here they are -
Boesendorfer PPS and Cream of the Earth in all their glory but now in GM
MIDI format..

"Chant" by The Mad Monks"
The Chant track can also be considered a Protracker MOD classic from the
Amiga platform originally composed by The Mad Monks and employed within one
of their infamous Amiga DEMO disks on the Amiga scene.. Again, this track
made for a great MIDI conversion.. The Mad Monks even left their trademark
in this peice using "chanting Monks" within the score..

"Graveyard Part III" by Seppo Hurme a.k.a. Fleshbrain
Seppo Hurme from Finland was a fellow member of the Amiga demo crew "The
Crusaders" along with Bj°rn A.Lynne and both shared disk space for their
modules but never actually co-composed.. In 1993 Both Bj°rn Lynne and Seppo
Hurme released a co-Produced self-financed audio CD album entitled "Hobbits
and Spaceships" again sharing CD space for their own self-penned synth
scores; Garveyard was rearranged to part III and was recorded and featured
on the album.. The MIDI version featured here is a celebration of a wacky
Amiga musian and composer who writes music like nobody else I've heard
before on the planet!

"Phantasmogoria" by 4-Mat of Anarchy
The title of this track alone says it all, "Phantasmogoria" a name
appropriated from a Lewis Carroll Poem published in "Alice In Wonderland"..
4-Mat was well known on the Amiga scene back in the late 1980s.. He was a
member of the Anarchy demo crew on the Amiga and his music featured
heavily in their DEMO disks.. Phantasmogoria was one such track and its
conversion is a celebration of the great music produced on this amazing
computer platform by teenage kids in their bedrooms - better than some
Rock Stars with millions of dollors who can't even get it up..
Phantasmogoria, it lives up to its name, catchy too..
